Services
.............................................................................................
I offer services ranging from commissioned artwork to website creation. Working with clients is something I enjoy and I strive
to provide the best service in a friendly manner - is there really any other way to conduct business?
I understand that not everyone is going to know what it is they want but with a little brainstorming, fast sketches and good
communication, we can come up with something that you will like and I'll have fun creating!
My specialty is working with pencils. Yes, I am what many call a "traditional" fine artist. That's what my educational background
is in so I guess I can say I'm pretty good at it. Whimsical and humorous drawings are simply a joy and I can often be caught doodling.
However, when I get down to the core of things, I'm a Photorealist. The more detail involved the happier I am. Of course, I can
spend quite a bit of time working this way so if you want me to create a piece for you, please allow plenty time for completion.
The computer is just another means to create. Turn around times for completing computer images will vary depending upon
the complexity of the task. Obviously, its going to take more time for me to work from an original concept to final product than to
modify an already existing image. However, I work closely with my clients and I do take in to consideration certain
circumstances when calculating a quote.
FAQ
Q: How do you determine your fee?
A: Depends upon the complexity. I do charge both hourly and by project. Examples of hourly projects may be a simple line
drawing or cartoon. Typical by-project example would be creating a website.
Q: What if I have changes, are you gonna charge me for changing my mind?
A: I would expect changes but I expect "reasonable" changes. In other words, if you decide that you aren't quite happy
with the layout or the typeface, those types of changes are expected and is part of the work package. However, if you
come back to me after going over the mock-up and you want to change every element drastically I'm afraid I'll have to put my foot
down and charge you for the time it takes to make those changes. I spend time brainstorming with my clients,
it allows us to go over basic elements and work out kinks before I start the meter. If you have any second thoughts, the first few
conversations is a good place to say what's on your mind!
Q: What's with the armadillo?
A: I had to pick something to go with my shirts! No really, its a long story that begins in college and continues to the present.
If you really have to know, throw me an email and I'll bore you.
Q: You mentioned that you are a traditional fine artist...what does that mean?
A: For me, it means my element is working with non-digital mediums such as pencils, pen & ink, paints, etc. I use the
same or similar techniques as the the masters in the museums. Granted I use software that can mimic the tools I use
but you can't duplicate the subtleties of a graphite smudge.
